What is understood by the beginning of individual training?

Individual trainings are, by all means, the highest quality form of physical activity when compared to standard gym practices. Practising in supervision of a dedicated personal fitness instructor gives the highest possible degree of training efficiency, by contrast to a standard gym where you are mostly left to yourself and your personal choice which muscle groups are to be exercised. Strain mode is programmed according to the following parameters:

  • testing of client's current physical abilities and characteristics
  • client's psychological profile
  • anthropometric measurements (height, body mass, diameter and length of certain body parts, diameter of joints, thickness of skin fold…)
  • interview with a client to determine the preferred objective
  • the so-called retest to monitor progress and/or make possible corrections to the training regime

GYM TRAINING VS INDIVIDUAL TRAINING

How important is the role of fitness instructor in the course of individual training?

The advantage of individual training, when compared to group work or gym practice, is mostly reflected in the role of professional and qualified fitness instructor and his work with the club member, that is, his maximum dedication to his client:

  • the most important element is the assistance of fitness instructor in correct realization of the very movement
  • assistance in setting the right objectives
  • based on the specified objective the fitness instructor determines means and methods to reach the objective
  • the role of fitness instructor is to control the dynamics of the training, breaks between more consecutive repetitions, so as to enable maximum training efficiency
  • fitness instructor gives useful advice on healthy diet
  • by this approach  chances of injury are reduced to a minimum
  • one of the most important aspects of training (the final part) is passive “stretching”

My recommendation is to stop looking at physical exercises as something "you have to do". Optimize the measure and dynamics taking into account your age, health condition and personal preferences. What is meant by optimizing the measure? It is a system of exercises which will neither be too easy nor too difficult to harm your health condition. Moderate and long-term physical practice has a positive effect on your psychological state improving self-confidence and your personal level of initiative. It makes you feel better, with rising awareness that you have been doing something useful for yourself.
